Building information modeling (BIM) is a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. The resulting building information models become shared knowledge resources to support decision-making about a facility from earliest conceptual stages, through design and construction, through its operational life and eventual demolition. The BIM concept envisages virtual construction of a facility prior to its actual physical construction, in order to reduce uncertainty, improve safety, work out problems, and simulate and analyze potential impacts. Scopes of work can be isolated and defined.
By utilizing the "WinEst" cost estimating software as an integral part of our project delivery method, we extract quantities easily from the 3D modules into "WinEst" and our professional estimators can then focused their efforts on the best practices in cost engineering with cost analysis and accurate pricing of our construction cost estimates. This approach supports one of P&M's key objectives to arrive at accurate cost estimates and to avoid cost overruns.
We utilize Synchro, Primavera, and Microsoft Project for CPM Scheduling. In support of the schedule development of construction activities, the CPM schedules are integrated with the "WinEst" software to capture the scope, resources and cost. Our professional schedulers will then complete the schedule development and focused their efforts on the best practices in CPM scheduling like work breakdown structure, phasing, workflows, crew size analysis, sequencing and development of accurate durations. This approach supports one of P&M's key objectives to arrive at accurate schedules and to avoid schedule slippages. In addition to the schedule development, we use the P&M method for progress & variance analysis and reporting which provides insight and summary of issues and variances.
By utilizing tools like Syncro that integrates Primavera and MSP with BIM 3D, it enables side-by-side alternative scheduling, tracking, and resource allocation, as well as time, risk and cost analysis to be evaluated. Use Synchro to define and communicate to your entire construction project delivery team what, when and where work is occurring on your project.
